I’m looking for a program where I can take multiple photo’s and lay them side by side and turn those two photo’s into one. I can do it extremely easily with Powerpoint, but unfortunately the computer I am doing this new project on does not have MS Office and I can’t use any other computers… (but I can download freeware programs). The easiest way that i know of to search for free images is by using google.com ‘s image search. you just type in what you want (the name of the character, game, ect.) and click images. most of the images you can just click on to veiw, then cut&paste them to whatever you’re working on, or save them to your “My Pictures” folder on you computer

What is the best genealogy software out there?
And please say why you think it is. I’m considering getting a new program. I have Heritage Family Tree Deluxe which I got as a first time program. However I would like something better now. One thing I would like if possible is when creating a web page that it can go past 32 generations. Heritage limits that to just 32.
What are some cool features in yours that you enjoy? I was considering RootsMagic because it sounded so good but they dont go beyond the 32 generations in creating a web page. (Anyone know why?)

I have tried several types of genealogy software. My favorite, hands down, is called “Roots Magic.” It’s very good at dealing with multimedia and sources, and has lots of nifty tools. The person who wrote it puts out updates very frequently, and is very amenable to suggestions for new features. I do not know of any limit on generations in this program at all.
I like the feature that allows me to color-code all the ancestors of a given person – that way, when you’re working on a particular branch of your tree, you can easily trace it back to the person, even when you’re not familiar with all of their ancestors; likewise, it has a feature that allows you to determine the relationship of all people in the database to any particular person; i.e., if I set relationships for my own son, it will say that I am his mother, that various people are his ancestors, and tell me the relationship of anyone else to him that is related by blood.
It has the standard features like being able to calculate the relationship between any two people as well; in addition, its merge feature is very good. Its search function is easily the best I’ve seen, allowing you to search on a variety of fields in combination.
